Job Summary

At Premier Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Special Procedures Neuro Radiology Technologist to join our Interventional Radiology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in performing diagnostic and therapeutic Neuro Interventional Radiology procedures using proper techniques and administration of contrast media.

Responsibilities
1. Performs Neuro IR procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols.
2. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the IR procedure.
3. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed IR policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
4. Prepares and administers contrast media by injection to the patient according to policy.
Practices sterile techniques.
5. Assists Radiologist in interventional radiology procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
6. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction
7. Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.
8. Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
9. Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
