Histology Technician Certified

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. As a Histology Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing and processing tissue samples for examination by pathologists.

**Responsibilities**

- Prepares and processes tissue samples for routine histologic techniques
- Performs proper labeling, fixation, embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping
- Sections and stains histological specimens for routine and special studies
- Prepares various stains, solutions, and other compounds used in the staining process
- Follows written technical procedures

**Requirements**

- Successful completion of an accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnologist program
- One year full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory within the last 5 years
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize duties

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Associate degree and successful completion of an accredited Histotechnician program
- Histotechnician certification, HT, by American Society of Clinical Pathology
