Job Description

League School for Autism is an award-winning, year-round program dedicated to the education of children on the autism spectrum. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are seeking a HEAD TEACHER for our Foundations program.

The program educates pre-k/elementary students with autism and related social communication challenges. The curriculum is based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks/Common Core Standards and modified to meet student needs. All classrooms are designed around student age, grade level and social communication needs, and are no larger than 8 students per classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Programs within the classroom/school and community settings.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop behavioral intervention plans, sensory diets, social pragmatic programming, and daily living-skill techniques for individual students.
  • Collect and record data regarding student performance in all skill areas as directed by the team, Education Coordinator, and/or Director of Clinical Services.
  • Implement individual and group behavior programs, including positive reinforcement, breaks, time outs, etc., as designed by Behavior Specialists and the team.
  • Provide curriculum content based on the Massachusetts Frameworks to implement each student's goals and objectives, as written in his/her Individual Education Program.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education with current MA license in MODERATE Special Needs, and experience with Autistic Individuals preferred.
  • Safety Care, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must pass rigorous background checks, including nationwide fingerprint screening.
