The U.S. Army is seeking highly skilled individuals to fill the role of Paralegal Specialist. As a vital member of the Army's legal system, you will provide comprehensive support in all areas of criminal law, family law, international law, civil and administrative law, contract law, and fiscal law.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide paralegal assistance to unit commanders and the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of legal matters.
- Prepare and present legal documents in courts-martial, nonjudicial punishments, and other military justice matters, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to prepare line of duty determinations, separation board proceedings, and other administrative law matters, adhering to strict deadlines and protocols.
- Offer expert guidance and support in family law matters, including powers of attorney, wills, and separation decrees, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Age requirement: 17-40 years old.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Pass a background and medical screening.
- Achieve a passing score on the ASVAB exam.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo rigorous training, comprising 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with hands-on instruction. Key skills acquired include legal terminology and research techniques, preparation of legal documents, and interviewing witnesses.
