Job Description

The Software Developer II will work closely with the Software Solution Engineering group to design and develop functioning software solutions that meet the requirements of our customers. This role will involve collaborating with the Commissioning group to ensure successful delivery of the solution and working within a development team to create high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clarify development requirements with the Lead Software Developer
  • Understand logistical requirements and create software solutions that meet these needs
  • Design and implement suitable software architectures and module test plans within specified technologies
  • Consider customer requests when finding and implementing solutions
  • Implement the defined solution within the required time and schedule
  • Ensure the quality of the software solution through integration and testing
  • Document software solutions and performed tests
  • Provide technical information regarding software solutions
  • Support and advise software solution engineering, quality assurance, commissioning, project management, service center, and technical editors
  • Share knowledge and experience with colleagues and mentor others
  • Provide remote and onsite support for testing during initial onsite commissioning
  • Provide third-level hotline support for software solutions
  • Notify project lead developer and direct supervisor of difficulties or delays
  • Participate in process improvements in the software development department
  • Provide feedback to superiors on process improvements and training needs
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience
  • Ability to understand and implement warehouse logistics processes and solutions
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Knapp products and their underlying architecture
  • Technical and logistical skills to start up a warehouse independently
  • Knowledge of 2 or more programming languages (C/C++, Java, C#, SQL, PL/SQL, script languages)
  • Familiarity with standard IT tools used in professional software development environments
  • Knowledge of current software technologies, development methods, and paradigms
  • Ability to process and pass-on complex technical information
  • English spoken and written
  • Basic knowledge of estimation methods for cost estimation in software development
Working Conditions and Environment:
  • Overtime as required by work
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Ability to travel by air domestically and internationally
  • Authorization to work in the U.S
  • Passport or ability to obtain passport
  • Professional office etiquette required at all times
Physical Requirements:

Sitting for long periods, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm's length, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
