Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical R&D Engineer II to join our Structural Heart division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering leadership in the creation and development of new medical device products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test innovative medical devices that improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new medical device products, including invasive and non-invasive devices
  • Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality
  • Develop new concepts from initial design to market release
  • Direct support personnel and coordinate project activities
  • Utilize multidisciplinary engineering knowledge to design and develop innovative new products
  • Evaluate prototypes formally and informally through structured and ad hoc testing
  • Provide clinical, usability and system level technical guidance and support to teams
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or other related engineering field
  • 2+ years of engineering experience, primarily in R&D or clinical engineering
  • Medical device experience
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and design of experiments
  • Knowledge of human factors engineering
  • Knowledge of animal models and animal study design
  • Knowledge of anatomical model development
  • Experience in a Quality System environment
  • Baseline clinical knowledge of cardiac function
