Behavioral Health Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Assistant to join our team at CREOKS Health Services. As a key member of our behavioral health division, you will provide essential support to children and families in need.
Key Responsibilities- Create personalized plans of action based on the unique needs of each youth and family.
- Advocate effectively for the youth within our agency and with external organizations.
- Use professional judgment to identify suitable options for agencies and organizations that can meet the specific needs of each youth.
- Evaluate situations critically and make informed decisions to adopt an effective course of action, delegate responsibilities, organize facts, and present them effectively.
- Provide expert advice and consultation to management regarding youth plans and advocacy efforts.
- Implement policies related to youth plans using discretion and independent judgment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 6-35 months of experience in behavioral health services.
- Specialized training and/or certification in mental health services or a related field is necessary to meet requirements for billable services and adjunctive services.
- Completion of Module 1, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens, and First Aid training portions of the specialized training and education curriculum provided by ODMHSAS before beginning work with children and families is mandatory.
- Ability to communicate needs effectively to others.
- Establishing working relationships with clinical, administrative, and support staff to develop professionalism and coordination within the team is essential.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, clients, and the public.
- Effective interaction with staff, clients, administration, and the community both in person and on the telephone is crucial.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality guidelines for interactions regarding client information is vital.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines with efficiency and consistency while maintaining good physical and mental health and job requirements.
- Organizing and planning field work schedules to best serve and maximize the needs of clients is essential.
- Possession of a current Oklahoma Driver's License and reliable transportation is required.
- Able to climb stairs and access non-handicap accessible equipped residences.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage challenging behaviors and teach appropriate behavioral skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify strengths and needs of the youth.
- Demonstrate understanding of disabilities, including the effects of disabilities on the child and family, and community attitudes toward children with disabilities and their families.
- Demonstrate the ability to resolve conflict.
- Demonstrate knowledge of disorders of childhood, including diagnosis commonly encountered by Behavioral Health Aides.
