About the Role

The Medical Care Specialist plays a crucial role in providing nursing services, training, and support to address the medical or psychiatric needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, substance abuse issues, and/or emotional or behavioral challenges.

This position involves conducting medical assessments, collaborating with healthcare teams, reviewing medical records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a passion for delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized service plans in collaboration with healthcare teams
  • Review medical records, revise care plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Administer medications, provide documentation, and review medication administration records
  • Manage high-risk medical conditions and oversee private duty nursing services
  • Develop and implement health care protocols for specific medical conditions
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to staff and mentors regarding home care issues and durable medical equipment
  • Participate in on-call systems, travel between multiple locations, and provide support to staff during working hours
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • One year experience working with medically complex individuals
  • Current state RN License
  • CPR/First Aid certification
Estimated Salary

$38.60 per hour
