About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Optum. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting and registering patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.

The successful candidate will also instruct, direct, and schedule patients and visitors, receive cash payments from patients, issue receipts, and post cash payment data.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Greet patients as they arrive and manage wait times efficiently.
  2. Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and document management.
  3. Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, and issue receipts accordingly.
  4. Manage the cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies.
  5. Process walk-in patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
  6. Answer phones and schedule appointments in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. Maintain medical records, scanning, filing, and preparing for schedules as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with 1+ years of customer service experience and strong communication skills.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for coverage at other clinics as needed.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated hourly range for this position is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour.

Pay is based on various factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and more.
