Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Pediatrics practice in Darien. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with our physicians and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care, following established standards of practice and state and federal guidelines.
  • Provide mentorship to non-nursing personnel and serve as a resource to staff and management.
  • Assist with patient interviews, reviewing medical profiles and documenting patient concerns.
  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, weight, and report any abnormalities to physicians.
  • Assist with specimen collection and testing as necessary, documenting pertinent information.
  • Provide minor treatment as directed by physicians and assist with minor procedures.
  • Provide education to patients and families, assessing learning needs and documenting patient-related activities.
  • Schedule patient testing and pre-certify if necessary, responding to telephone messages by the end of the shift.
  • End of month checks for expired supplies and medication, stocking rooms and maintaining inventory.
  • Clean exam and procedure rooms, preparing for the next patient and physician needs.
  • Notify patients of test results and follow up as per physician instruction.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service education opportunities, and participate in continuing education programs.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in CT.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position preferred.
