Clinical Support Technician

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing clinical support to patients and staff in the Neurosurgery Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
  • Provide a variety of clerical tasks, including organizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directing visitors, and maintaining medical records.
  • Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
  • Measure and record vital signs, and patient height and weight.
  • Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Requires six (6) months of clerical or customer service experience

Work Environment:

This is a 36 hours per week position; working 12-hour rotating shifts (7am - 7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am) with weekend and holiday rotation.

This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO hours, which are accrued based on the number of worked hours.
