About the Role

As a Medical Plasma Specialist, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the management of the Center Physician for operational and medical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
  • Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a graduate-level nursing program and state licensure requirements
  • Current licensure or certification as an EMT-Paramedic in the state where responsibilities will be assigned
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialists

Compensation

The estimated hourly wage range for this position is $20.00-$27.50. U.S.-based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives and participate in our 401(k) plan and company match. They are also eligible to receive up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year and accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
