About the Role

The Associate Account Manager is a key member of our commercial sales team, responsible for maintaining and retaining relationships with existing customers for permanent commercial and industrial waste services in an assigned territory.

This role requires a strong understanding of the waste management industry and the ability to effectively communicate with customers to meet their needs and exceed their expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Retention: Proactively maintain and retain existing customers by making outbound calls and receiving inbound calls to retain business with Republic Services' smaller, less complex commercial and industrial customers.
  • Sales and Service: Increase the level of penetration in existing customer base by selling the full suite of Republic Services products.
  • Contractual Re-signs: Perform contractual re-signs on existing customers to extend customer relationship and increase customer profitability where appropriate.
  • Customer Communication: Respond to all cancellation requests in alignment with the established escalation policy and proactively communicate with or respond to customers in support of company pricing initiatives.
  • Utilization of Technology: Utilize Salesforce on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting all activities such as calls, meetings, and proposals.
  • Customer Data Management: Capture customer emails, minimize rate restrictions, and customer credits.
Requirements
  • Waste or Transportation Industry Experience: A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in the waste or transportation industry.
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
