Job Overview

Lumibuild is seeking a highly skilled Audio Visual Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our commercial AV integration team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality AV projects to our clients. This includes guiding installers, physically installing AV equipment, and configuring AV systems to meet the specific needs of each project.

As a seasoned AV professional, you will work closely with our engineering and technical project managers to maintain standards, stay on schedule, and mentor lower-level technicians. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that clients receive exceptional, complete, and functional AV spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation and commissioning of AV systems, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop and implement AV system designs
  • Mentor and train junior technicians to ensure knowledge transfer and team growth
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pre-existing systems for post-integration support
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial AV field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of audio and video components, signal types, and cables
  • Proficiency in soldering, crimping, and compression terminations
  • Understanding of wire pull techniques and conduit fill capacity
  • Able to build structures for mounting AV equipment on-site with supervision
  • Use coax and category cable testing and toning
  • Demonstrated familiarity with major manufacturers and product lines
  • Basic understanding of networking: IP addressing, MAC address, network hardware
  • Able to read system drawings
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of control systems and commonly controlled devices
  • Ability to connect to and load profiles/programs to major AV devices
  • Experience with Dante networked audio and Dante controller
  • Understanding of audio signal levels and ability to critically listen to DSP audio
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with commissioning newly installed systems and completing comprehensive checklists/reports
  • Demonstrated consistency, efficiency, and accuracy in termination methods
  • Understanding of projector throw distance and relationship between it and projected image size
  • Adjust projectors after physical installation to ensure proper screen fill and focus
  • Understanding of series and parallel circuits
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a job site, planning the day to maximize resources and avoid idle time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CTS Certification
  • Basic IT networking knowledge
  • Completion of scissor lift certification
  • Completion of boom lift certification
  • OSHA 10 Certification
