Job Description

The Accounting Assistant plays a vital role in the efficient running of our financial operations. Working closely with the CFO, you will be responsible for processing payroll, accounts payable, and data entry for monthly and quarterly reports, financial statements, and general ledger.

Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining all records and data required to process our company's payroll.

  • Reconciling daily banking transactions to our general ledger and client billing system.
  • Coordinating the ordering of office supplies across our firm-wide locations.
  • Facilitating travel and hotel arrangements for firm-wide events and meetings.
  • Compiling information for reporting purposes, journal entry support, and preparing correspondence.
  • Maintaining an efficient and effective filing system.
  • Running errands and making deliveries as required.
  • Providing backup for other central office staff in HR, AR, and may back up front office as needed.
  • Attending training and staying up-to-date with industry, state, federal, and IRS changes as needed.

You will also be expected to perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned by management.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification and experience.
  • At least three years of bookkeeping and payroll experience in a similar work environment.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in a General Ledger Software.

Key skills for success in this role include:

  • A strong understanding of payroll, A/R, A/P, and bank reconciliations.
  • Excellent computer skills, including accounting and word processing software.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think independently.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service, written, and oral communication.
  • Ability to work self-directed and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, profit-sharing 401(k) plan with safe harbor contributions, a minimum of 10 vacation days, nine company-observed holidays, 12 sick days, and half-day Fridays from May through December.
