Job Title: Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor- DPT

Job Summary: The Texas A&M University-Texarkana Department of Physical Therapy is seeking applications for tenure-track faculty members with terminal academic degrees and non-tenure track faculty members with DPT degrees. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in active learning and teaching in a DPT program, as well as the ability to teach core DPT topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach or co-teach didactic and immersive lab courses related to areas of expertise.
  • Interact effectively with students, administration, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ensure the delivery of curriculum based on evidence, contemporary clinical practice, and CAPTE requirements.
  • Establish and implement a personal scholarly agenda.
  • Promote and participate in community and university service.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, etc.) for tenure-track faculty members.
  • DPT degree for non-tenure track faculty members.
  • Active, unrestricted Physical Therapy license in any state.
  • Minimum of three years of full-time clinical practice following licensure.
  • Strong leadership skills and a vision for excellence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skill in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to teach DPT coursework.
  • Knowledge of CAPTE accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Participation in a minimum of one CAPTE Self Study.
  • Specialty certification (CCS, GCS, OCS, NCS, PCS, OS, WCS, ECS, SCS, WCS) or equivalent.
  • Higher education certification in active learning, hybrid education, teaching models, curriculum, or similar.
