Electrical Design Lead for Advanced Satellite Systems

At SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space exploration and satellite technology. We're seeking an experienced Electrical Design Lead to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge systems.
Job SummaryWe're looking for a skilled Electrical Design Lead to oversee the design, development, and testing of highly reliable electronics for our satellite systems. As a key member of our team, you'll partner with cross-functional teams to drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test of complex electrical designs.
Main Responsibilities- Design and Develop: Highly reliable electronics for communicating with our satellites, including circuit boards, printed circuit assemblies, and other electronic components.
- Evaluate and Integrate: Third-party electrical and design integration solutions to ensure reliable operation of Starlink.
- Collaborate with Teams: Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and production test teams to deliver tightly integrated, high-performance hardware.
- Drive Continual Improvements: Analyze data collected on orbit and in the lab to drive continual improvements to our designs and build physical and digital tools to analyze data.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
- Preferred Skills: Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar engineering degree; 2+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products; strong understanding of computers and programming languages (Python, C/C++).
