Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Curatorial Assistant to provide administrative support to the Chief Curator and the Curatorial and Collections department. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Chief Curator, including managing calendar, assisting with travel, and maintaining correspondence.
  • Provide administrative support for other functions of the Curatorial and Collections department.
  • Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and drafting minutes.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting, including gathering anticipated budgetary needs and tracking expenses.
  • Act as liaison between the Curatorial department and professional contacts, museum supporters, and the public.
  • Provide curatorial support as needed, including retrieving library materials and curatorial files, corresponding with other museum professionals, and maintaining curatorial files.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in art history or a related field.
  • Previous administrative experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to research and gather information in a variety of arenas.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
