Tractor-Truck Driver Position for Reliable Delivery Services

Job Overview:

Sysco is seeking a skilled Tractor-Truck Driver to join our team. As a vital member of our delivery services, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and delivering products to customers in a timely manner.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be required to:

  • Deliver products within assigned routes and time windows, informing management of any deviations.
  • Unload products from the trailer and place them in designated customer storage areas.
  • Lift, push, or move products weighing up to 100 pounds, frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets.
  • Bend and twist while loading and unloading products, retrieving items from the trailer.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers, obtain proper signatures, and contact management for authorization when discrepancies occur.
  • Pickup, load, and unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities following DOT regulations and Sysco policies.
  • Complete DOT logs, company vehicle maintenance reports, and reconcile with appropriate representatives.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in the tractor and trailer, assisting with maintaining warehouse and yard cleanliness.
  • Maintain and safely operate assigned equipment, including hand carts, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • At least one year of commercial driving experience.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Excellent customer service skills and problem-resolution abilities.
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
