The Restaurant Host is a key member of our hospitality team, responsible for providing exceptional service and ensuring a positive experience for our guests from arrival to departure.
- Greeting and Check-in: Greet guests warmly, provide courteous service, and efficiently handle check-ins and seating.
- Phone and Reservation Management: Answer phones, take reservations, take in-room dining orders, and maintain accurate records in reservation systems.
- Guest Placement and Coordination: Coordinate with restaurant and/or pool staff to optimize guest placements, avoiding overbooking and ensuring smooth flow.
- Station Setup and Maintenance: Assist with preparation of station charts, assign stations, and guide servers and support staff in optimal table set-up.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the host/hostess station and assigned work areas.
- Guest Profiles and Special Requests: Monitor and update guest profiles, VIP arrivals, and special requests using reservation systems.
- Menu and Wine List Management: Ensure menus and wine lists are clean, up-to-date, and well-stocked at all times.
- Guest Complaint Resolution: Resolve guest complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Hotel Services and Local Information: Familiarize yourself with all hotel services, local attractions, and respond accurately to guest inquiries.
- Collaboration with Food and Beverage Management: Collaborate with Food and Beverage Management to set a positive tone for the restaurant environment.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality, preferably in a high-end setting.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and the ability to speak and write in English fluently.
- Must be of minimum age to serve alcohol.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
Compensation: This position starts at $18.54/hour.
