The Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services leads our agency's effort to identify buildings in distress, assess and develop strategies to address those properties, and work with responsible owners to improve conditions and return buildings to firm financial footing and physical health.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Manager L-2 to oversee program activities under the executive direction of the Assistant Commissioner for the Emergency Operations Division. The successful candidate will manage all operational aspects, including coordinating emergency hazards and repairs with Owners and Contractors, facilitating access, routing of Field Technicians, scoping emergency hazards and repair work, monitoring work while in progress, ensuring completed work is appropriately approved, and supervising the resolution of discrepancies and other issues associated.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Inspecting, directing, and monitoring work relating to emergency repairs and environmental hazards for compliance with plans and specifications.
  2. Ensuring acceptable abatement methods are used, including equipment and compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations.
  3. Monitoring contract performance; identifying problems with emergency repairs and seeking appropriate resolutions.
  4. Preparing field reports, scopes of work, and cost estimates for emergency repair and lead & mold abatement projects.
  5. Performing dust wipe sampling using protocol-approved by the Department for clearance and re-occupancy.
  6. Reviewing and processing contractors' requisitions for payment and change orders.
  7. Performing work related to hazardous materials assessment using XRF equipment and laboratory analysis.
Qualifications

We require a four-year high school diploma or its equivalent, approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and five years of full-time satisfactory experience managing and/or inspecting one or more construction projects with a total cost of at least $300,000 for each of the five years. Alternatively, one year of experience as described above and a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university may be considered. A valid license as a professional engineer, registered architect, or registered landscape architect may also be accepted.
