Phlebotomy Specialist

About the Role:
The Phlebotomy Specialist is a vital member of our laboratory team, responsible for collecting high-quality specimens for testing in the inpatient setting. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood and other specimens from patients in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens to maintain integrity
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure smooth specimen collection
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to resolve any issues or concerns related to specimen collection
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in phlebotomy or a related field
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) a plus
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Formal Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training required (annual recertification not required); PBT (ASCP) certification highly desirable
