Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Virtualization Engineer to join our team in San Diego, California. As a key member of our engineering team, you will design, develop, integrate, modify, and maintain on-premises hyper-converged data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and test software and hardware systems in complex IT systems.
  • Develop engineering and automated deployments for data center system configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to install, troubleshoot, and document procedures.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and document tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 5 years of related experience; OR Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of related experience, or PhD in STEM with no experience.
  • Experience with deploying and maintaining virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Linux server deployment, maintenance, and administration.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and hardening virtual machines.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, PowerShell, etc.
  • Infrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of backup/storage and network technologies.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Active Directory Federation Services.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Familiarity with version control, GIT experience preferred.
  • Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.

Salary Range

$107,300 - $160,900 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
