Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at Valparaiso University. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol the Valparaiso University campus and surrounding areas to prevent and investigate crimes
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance to individuals in need
  • Enforce Federal and State laws, as well as Valparaiso University policies and regulations
  • Investigate crimes and gather evidence to support prosecutions
  • Collaborate with the campus community to reduce crime and promote a safe environment
Requirements
  • Hold a valid Indiana Law Enforcement Academy certification or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of a high school education and a valid driver's license
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations
Working Conditions

The Police Officer will work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and will be required to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
