Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Technical Lead to join our Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Practice in a technical leadership role. The successful candidate will work on projects throughout the United States, providing technical direction to project teams and serving as a technical subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide technical direction and lead client-facing teams to support the continued growth of our engineering and environmental services within the power and industrial markets.

* Develop new clients and support existing client relationships.

* Attend client meetings and coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams.

* Provide technical leadership in the areas of CCR ash basin closure, landfill design, solid waste management, groundwater and related regulatory, planning, design and construction phase projects.

* Prepare qualifications, technical approach, and selling messages and communicate them in proposals and project interviews.

* Serve as senior consultant for current and future projects, working with internal project teams and clients to set strategic direction for project execution.

* Participate in national/regional industry organizations, as appropriate on behalf of AECOM and AECOM's clients.

* Help recruit new talent to grow AECOM's team.

* Develop, present, and execute winning client strategies for new and follow-on contract bids.

* Provide input to the overall development of technical, management and business plans.

* Support all phases of contract procurement – from pre-positioning to proposal development and post-submission activities.

* Mentor and coach team members as required.

* Serve as a reviewer.

* Local and national travel (up to 20% of the time).

Requirements:

* BA/BA + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

* U.S. Citizen/Resident.

* This role is subject to a Background and Drug & Alcohol screening for pre employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* B.S. Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Environmental), Geology or Hydrogeology.

* Master's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.), Geology or Hydrogeology.

* Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.).

* Minimum ten years of related technical experience in engineering, geology or hydrogeology.

* Ten years of project management experience.

* Five years of experience in CCR-related projects.

* 15+ years of related project experience in Civil Design, CCR, Environmental Infrastructure or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to CCR management, solid waste management, remediation construction, water resources, dams and impoundments.

* Ten+ years of experience working for an engineering consulting organization or power company.

* Knowledgeable in the power market and clientele.

* Excellent verbal communication skills with the proven ability for effective professional communications to a scientific and non-scientific audience.

* Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

* Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

* Excellent verbal with strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills, ability to work both independently and within teams, and a positive attitude.

* Demonstrated business development experience.

* Demonstrated experience leading proposal efforts and account management.

* Availability to travel within the United States to visit team locations, client sites and regulatory agencies.

* Demonstrated experience recruiting and developing capabilities to meet business and client needs.
