About the Role

We're seeking a highly experienced Director of Data Science and AI to lead our data science team. As a key member of our organization, you will work closely with executives and leaders across the company to support our business strategy.

Your mission will be to apply quantitative methods and develop machine learning models that deliver customer value and enable iterative product development.

This role is ideal for a seasoned data and technology leader who can champion cross-functional collaboration and drive technical efforts in building robust and resilient auto-scaling ML solutions.

You will be responsible for finding opportunities in AI, defining strategies for AI use cases, and owning the roadmap aligning with broader interpersonal goals with Product Management, Product Engineering, and UX.

You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions for various business domains through all stages of the ML workflow, including data ingestion, model building, and model operations.

You will work with partners across organizations to improve data infrastructure, enrich dataset, and improve data quality to support ML solutions at scale.

You will engage effectively with Product and Engineering leaders to identify and deliver customer-centric strategic analysis to find opportunities and support key Application domain product and business initiatives beyond the scope of supporting reactive requests.

You will demonstrate the ability to lead, manage, and inspire a team of Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers toward project objectives and strategic goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 12+ years of experience in Data Science and AI for software products
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in building and retaining a high-performance and diverse Data Science and AI team
  • Masters/PhD in Statistics, Operation Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a quantitative field
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing high-visibility projects and solving problems quickly with minimal oversight
  • Outstanding background in Machine Learning with hands-on experience in building and implementing large-scale ML models
  • Familiarity with ML modeling techniques (e.g., deep learning, gradient boosting, graph, NLP / LLM, regression, clustering etc.)
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills and ability to communicate sophisticated concepts to various audiences
  • Attention to details and balance operation and strategic perspective of running Data Science and AI organization
Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is between $250,000 and $350,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
