About the Role:

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring University Health’s operational areas align with regulatory standards, including delegated activities and reporting. This individual must be well-versed in Texas Medicaid regulations, the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) guidelines, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Plan, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). They will also need to familiarize themselves with health plan documents such as Summaries of Benefits and Coverage, Schedules of Benefits, and Certificates of Coverage.

This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the execution of regulatory deliverables. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will assist in interpreting and executing changes in regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA. Building relationships with regulatory agencies and internally will be crucial to facilitate improved interaction, transparency, and accountability.
