Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Opportunity in New Hampshire

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team in New Hampshire.
Job SummaryUnder the general supervision of collaborating Orthopedic surgeons, this role will perform diversified clinical duties in support of orthopedic practice, adhering to evidence-based guidelines in patient care and treatment.
Responsibilities- Participate in hospital meetings and collaborate with providers and coworkers to achieve departmental objectives.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee, legal, client/patient, budget, and organizational matters.
- Keep knowledge base current by attending educational programs that advance competencies in orthopedics.
- Utilize the current Electronic Medical Record to complete documented Best Practice Workflows accurately.
- Document physical findings and patient response on appropriate worksheets and medical records.
- Conduct physical diagnostic, medical history taking, and therapeutic procedures in a professional manner, in accordance with established standards of care and practice in orthopedic medicine.
- Formulate an appropriate plan of care based on physical exam, patient history, and clinical findings, and collaborate with physician(s) as necessary.
- Recognize and report relevant information that requires urgent attention, and ensure follow-through.
- Write or submit orders, including diagnostic tests, referrals, and medication.
- Answer patient questions and clarify concerns regarding medications, diet, activity, and health status.
- Perform procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures.
- Assist in surgery, including first assist, deep and superficial tissue closures, application of appliances, and other actions delegated by the surgeon.
- Evaluate and clarify clinical conditions, formulate and implement a treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients, dictate discharge summaries, histories, and physicals.
- Take primary call one night a week (M-TH) and 2nd call one weekend a month.
- Participate in the facilitation/coordination of multidisciplinary resources needed for surgical and non-surgical orthopedic care.
- Three years or more as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- Orthopedic competency validation as evidenced through case volume, additional education, or partnership in an orthopedic practice required.
- Licensed by the State of NH as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Completion of a first assist program.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required, and must be maintained throughout employment.
