Overview
Important Note: Kern Community College District is continuously accepting applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools. This process enables the division to reach out to qualified candidates promptly when a need arises, eliminating the wait for advertising. Kern Community College District is inviting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. The starting pay is $60.00/hour; the hourly rate may vary based on the specific assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. For further details, please refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or consult your college HR office.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must possess any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
OR - Equivalent qualifications may be considered. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be evaluated as equivalent to the stated minimum qualifications. Candidates who believe they meet such equivalent qualifications must submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form along with supporting documents. AND - A demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section). Any degree from a country outside the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
Note: The candidate screening will be conducted by a committee, which reserves the right to limit the number of interviews granted. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.

Ability to design curriculum, including various delivery methods;

Demonstrated commitment to maintaining current knowledge in the subject area;
Ability to evaluate student learning outcomes;
Proficiency in computer usage and a willingness to explore new technologies that enhance the program;
Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of California community colleges;
