Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical ultrasound procedures, correlating patient history, laboratory data, and physical findings to assist in medical diagnosis.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures, utilizing appropriate instrumentation and techniques to optimize image data and documentation.
  • Assist physicians with invasive procedures as necessary, adhering to universal protocol standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to expedite patient care efficiently, demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, and charged through our RIS system.
  • Maintain flexibility to work within different clinical areas to support the needs of the departments and/or business units.
Requirements
  • Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
  • RDMS registered or registry eligible preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance required.
