Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a skilled Electrical Journeyman to join our Energy Storage and Solutions team in the Waco, TX area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools
  • Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training
  • Lift, position, and fasten objects
  • Prepare, handle, and supply of materials and tools be used by electrical trades
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
  • Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Pull DC and MV wire
Requirements
  • Limited ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work with tools, such as, power and non-powered hand tools
  • Willing and able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions
  • Ability to work safely with electrical equipment
  • Mentor and train other team members on your crews
  • Knowledge of working with HV/MV/LV AC/DC electrical systems
  • Ability to handle materials that can weigh up to 200Ibs
  • Strong teamwork orientation
  • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Electrical Journeyman License (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years Electrical experience (required)
  • Current driver's license
Essential Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently work in heat and other weather conditions
  • Frequently crouch, kneel, squat, climb
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs
  • Frequently reach high and low places
  • Ability to see, hear, balance, and review job sites
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout work day
  • Ability to use repetitive hand/arm/leg movements
