Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as part of our New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity for new graduates to transition from a new nurse to a professional nurse.

Program Details

Our Nurse Residency Program is a one-year nationally recognized program that provides a carefully planned combination of on-the-job and classroom education. As a New Graduate Registered Nurse, you will receive support from your Nurse Manager, Preceptor, Mentor, and other unit staff, as well as a Nursing Outcome Improvement Facilitator.

Curriculum

Our curriculum focuses on three core components: Clinical Leadership, Patient Safety and Outcomes, and the Professional Role as a Registered Nurse. The program includes monthly residency sessions that provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The last six months of the program is committed to an evidence-based practice project, where you will work with your unit and unit manager on a clinical issue that you see as problematic or an area of improvement.

Responsibilities

As a New Graduate Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process. You will provide age-appropriate care and participate in research when appropriate, incorporating research findings into evidence-based clinical practice.

Qualifications
  • Licensed as RN in State of Illinois.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.

Please note that we require the ability to position and/or transfer an average adult patient, possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties as required, and withstand prolonged periods of standing. You must also be able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.

Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other potentially hazardous materials.
