About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Philanthropy Director to join our team at The University of Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to raise major gifts in support of the College's mission and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and potential undergraduate parent donors with the capacity to make gifts of at least $100,000.
  • Travel regularly within assigned regions to meet with prospects and donors.
  • Plan and organize select cultivation events for groups of high-level donors and prospects.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues to achieve development goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • A college or university degree in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
  • Minimum five years nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, research, communications, public relations, or similar work experience.
  • Event planning or project management experience.
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
