Recreation and Leisure Activity Coordinator

Job Summary
This position is located within the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at Commander, Navy Installations. The Recreation and Leisure Activity Coordinator is responsible for providing a variety of duties in support of the recreation and internet facilities. Key responsibilities include serving as a duty manager to ensure the facility is functioning smoothly, safely, and effectively.
As a Recreation and Leisure Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the facility is open and closed at the posted time, reviewing the schedule of events, and ensuring the facility is prepared prior to the scheduled start time. You will also be responsible for issuing, receiving, and controlling cash receipts and change funds under custody.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will be responsible for maintaining the security of the recreation facility, including enforcing tobacco and alcohol restrictions. You will also be responsible for performing general housekeeping duties to ensure the interior spaces are in a clean, neat, and orderly state at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serves as duty manager to ensure the facility is functioning smoothly, safely, and effectively
• Ensures the facility is open and closed at the posted time
• Reviews the schedule of events and ensures the facility is prepared prior to the scheduled start time
• Issues, receives, and controls cash receipts and change funds under custody
• Maintains the security of the recreation facility, including enforcing tobacco and alcohol restrictions

Requirements:
A minimum of two years of work-related experience is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership and communication skills to effectively exercise control over a large group of people, market the program, motivate eligible patrons, and lead a small staff with minimal direction.
