The Senior Field Engineer role is a critical position responsible for installing, commissioning, and managing large-scale commercial networked Audio/Visual Presentation and Videoconferencing systems. This individual will work closely with project teams, collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and skill sets.

This role reports directly to the Director of Yorkforce, who provides guidance, support, and direction. The Senior Field Engineer plays a key role in determining strategies for resolving client requirements and technical issues that may impact project completion.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and issue resolution. They will be expected to maintain confidentiality and utilize discretion when handling sensitive information.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Communicate site-specific issues, recommendations, and resolutions to stakeholders and the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Respond to complex questions and detailed inquiries regarding technical issues and their resolutions.
  • Protect internal and external confidential information, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive, thorough, and detailed technical and site-specific information to project teams daily.
  • Document customer requirements and job site conditions through daily interactions with clients and job sites.
  • Offer post-installation documentation, including red-lined drawings, network information, MAC addresses, etc., back to Project Management.
  • Maintain collaboration with engineering team members, utilizing their support as needed.
  • Promote accurate and complete project documentation and records.
  • Ensure seamless communication with internal staff, client representatives, cooperative trades, and subcontractors.
  • Oversight of subcontractors and other installation engineers.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget, effectively communicating any potential issues to the project team.
  • Compliance with company technical standards and practices.
  • Correct interpretation of technical specifications, schematic drawings, and architectural diagrams.

Technical Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation, replacement, and configuration of integrated system components, networked Video Conferencing Codecs, networked A/V Control Systems, and networked Audio DSP Devices.
  • Test and commission entire system installations prior to Client handover, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and operation of DSP-based audiovisual components and networked AV control systems.
  • Daily project status updates to the Project Management Team, immediately reporting any issues impacting successful completion.
  • Audio system calibration, including AEC and RF systems.
  • Display calibration for color, EDID, and others.
  • Client training upon project completion.
  • Customer Acceptance Form signing and submission to Project Management.
  • 'Red-lined' engineering drawings completion and return upon project completion.
  • Post-installation support transition to Yorktel tech services departments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of video/audio conferencing service standards.
  • Familiarity with audiovisual, videoconferencing, and IT products and applications.
  • Professionals demonstrating exceptional customer service, problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Competency in MS Suite (Outlook, Project, Excel, and Word).

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
