Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including:

Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Virtual Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Virtual Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders.

You will work in cooperation with district supervisors, teachers, parents, and students to help students adjust and access the general education curriculum. Your duties will include:

  1. Providing high-quality virtual speech-language therapy services to a wide variety of students in grades K-12
  2. Conducting standard and non-standardized assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas such as motor speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, literacy, and dysphagia
  3. Developing treatment plans that are strength-based and child-centered
  4. Ensuring IEP, evaluation, and progress monitoring procedures adhere to district, state, and federal guidelines
  5. Collecting ongoing daily data and adapting treatment accordingly based on trends in student performance
  6. Attending IEP and evaluation meetings and providing necessary documentation for the team to review in a timely manner
  7. Collaborating with classroom teachers and other members of a student's educational team
  8. Demonstrating knowledge of Common Core Standards and aligning them with treatment objectives
  9. Developing, following, and communicating a daily schedule to building leaders and department supervisors
  10. Attending regularly scheduled staff meetings and pursuing professional development to maintain state board licensure and address student and caseload needs
  11. Facilitating effective student communication abilities across all modes and levels of language
  12. Participating in building-based intervention processes to support students and teachers
  13. Developing functional use of district software for special education compliance and accountability reporting
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A Professional Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Florida
  • Florida residency preferred
  • Proficient computer applications, including MS Office Suite, Google applications, email, and internet applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas
  • Exhibit genuine care for children and a passion for teaching
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make sound educational decisions
  • Flexibility with regard to decision-making, daily challenges, and job duties
  • A strong sense of integrity
  • A 'team player' attitude
  • Ability to work in a diverse educational community setting
  • Understanding of community and student demographics
  • Understanding of state proficiency testing and state teaching standards
  • Satisfactory completion of state required criminal history check and health tests
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds
