About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center.

Job Summary

This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled RN to provide exceptional care and support to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.

As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for implementing the nursing process, documenting patient activities and interventions, and administering medication.

  • You will complete a comprehensive assessment of the patient upon arrival to the surgical suite.
  • Initiate the plan of care by properly preparing the patient for surgery.
  • Provide teaching and emotional support for surgical patients.
  • Affirm pre-procedure documentation and consent forms are complete.
  • Assist with the preparation and care of the patient during anesthesia.
  • Continually assess and monitor the patient's condition throughout endoscopic or pain management procedures.

You will also set up equipment needed for procedures and clean and sterilize all equipment post-procedure.

Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting.
  • 1 year of Endoscopy experience – preferred.
