About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Rehab Building. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of adults and children with mental illness on our acute psychiatric hospital unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care and provide assistance with activities of daily living
  • Provide secretarial support and lead goals/wrap up groups
  • Direct and lead code secure activities
  • Actively participate in unit activities and provide support as indicated
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Psychiatry-related or nursing assistant experience preferred
  • Ability to handle/restrain patients who may be disruptive and/or physically violent
  • Willingness to learn medical terminology and clinical procedures
