Job Overview
The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow in Geomechanics to join our vibrant research group. As a geomechanics researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects related to laboratory experimentation and data analysis in geophysics.

About the Position
We are looking for an exceptional candidate with expertise in laboratory experimentation, rock mechanics, fluid flow in porous media, and/or analysis and modeling of drilling, geodetic or seismological data. The successful applicant will contribute to and lead research within our group, working closely with undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and laboratory staff. You will also have the chance to collaborate with international field programs and scientific drilling expeditions.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct research focused on laboratory experimentation and/or analysis of geophysical and drilling data, with a focus on deformation and fluid flow in Earth materials.
• Develop independent research projects and/or co-mentor students if desired;
• Contribute to and lead research within a vibrant group of students, postdocs, and laboratory staff working on problems in geofluids, geomechanics, and tectonics.

Requirements
Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geosciences, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field within the last three years.
• Experience in laboratory experimentation focused on the investigation of rock, sediment, or soil deformation and rheology;
• Familiarity with analysis of laboratory, drilling, or other geophysical data, and/or computational approaches to the study of coupled deformation and fluid flow.
