Job Summary:

Doyon Government Group is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee all site construction activities and supervise field personnel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, with 5 years as a construction superintendent on projects similar in size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities
  • Direct field personnel to achieve project completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship
  • Maintain daily contact with project managers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Write and maintain construction schedules, identify and solve problems
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings
  • Articulate timely requests for information in the best interest of the company
  • Review subcontractors' Schedules of Values for percentage complete and Pay Applications
  • Coordinate and negotiate change order pricing from subcontractors related to contract modifications
  • Update mandatory safety documentation as the project proceeds
  • Submission and procurement of materials for self-performance work
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree desirable but not required; experience can substitute
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction
  • 5 years as a construction superintendent on projects similar in size and complexity
  • Experience with federal government construction projects (USACE and/or NAVFAC)
  • Familiar with the requirements of EM and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance
  • Capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Primavera scheduling software
  • Able to self-perform some minor scopes of work, carpentry, drywall, cleaning, demo, etc.
  • Ability to estimate projects
  • Valid state driver's license
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • CPR & First Aid certification

Working Environment:

The majority of the work is performed in an indoor/outdoor setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

Physical Demands:

An individual will be required to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and repeat motions.

Light Work:

Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects is required.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
