Job Title: Personal Care Aide

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily living skills, including dressing, bathing, feeding, and grooming.
  • Provide light cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and dishes.
  • Shop and run errands for clients.
  • Prepare meals for regular and simple modified diets.
  • Assist with self-administration of oral medications.
  • Clean stable wounds with soap and water and apply a clean dry dressing.
  • Act as a role model for program participants by interacting with people in a manner that will assist them in developing appropriate social behaviors.
  • Assist with implementation of behavior modification plans as needed.
  • Participate in case conferences upon request.
  • Provide any personal care tasks as directed by the supervising RN under the plan of care.
Requirements:
  • Certification as a Personal Care Aide in New York State preferred but not required - agency will provide training.
  • Knowledge of community resources and means of accessing these services.
  • Valid NYS driver's license/dependable vehicle.
