**Job Overview:** We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to conduct medical assessments for veterans. This role is exclusively focused on independent medical assessments and does not involve treatment. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical records, conducting in-depth evaluations, and completing VA-provided Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through a secure online portal. These assessments will assist the VA in making accurate disability determinations.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze veterans' medical records through a secure web portal to gather comprehensive information.
- Conduct thorough, non-treating assessments of veterans to document current health conditions accurately.
- Complete and submit DBQs based on VA-specific templates to capture all relevant medical findings efficiently.
- Ensure that all DBQs are thorough, accurate, and submitted within 24 hours of the assessment to meet deadlines.
- Assess up to four veterans daily as part of the evaluation process.
**Schedule Flexibility:** We offer flexible scheduling options, including 1 day every other week, 1 day per month, or 2 half days per month, to accommodate your needs and ensure a good work-life balance.
**Ideal Candidate Profile:**
- Dedicated to performing independent medical assessments in a non-treating, investigative role.
- Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data from comprehensive medical records and physical assessments to draw accurate conclusions.
- Skilled in managing time effectively, completing tasks within deadlines, and maintaining a focus on quality to deliver exceptional results.
- Comfortable and efficient in digital documentation and record review to streamline processes.
- Passionate about serving veterans and making a positive impact in their lives.
**Requirements:**
- A valid Active MD or DO license with a specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred; candidates with a completed two-year residency in a relevant specialty will also be considered.
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail are essential for accurate and efficient work.
We offer a competitive salary range of **$120,000 - $180,000 per year**, commensurate with experience, to attract top talent and support our mission of delivering exceptional medical assessments for veterans.
