Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Geriatric Care Assistant to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a fun-loving, employee-centric community that prioritizes resident care and staff development.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues. They will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our residents, including assistance with activities of daily living, personal care, and mobility.

In addition to your clinical skills, you will also be expected to maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to our strict infection control protocols. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans, promoting the independence and dignity of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility
  • Provide personal care and support, including assistance with bowel and bladder functions, monitoring of bowel movements, and specimen collection
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, as required by regulatory bodies
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, upholding our company values and mission
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; State Registered or Certified Nursing Aide/Assistant certification required
  • Previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Able to perform job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
