Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at the State of Nebraska. As a key member of our Materials & Research Division, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our highway construction projects.

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will oversee the testing and inspection of materials used in highway construction, ensuring that they meet the required standards. You will also be responsible for supervising and training our construction and maintenance personnel on material specifications, testing procedures, and quality control measures.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the testing and inspection of materials used in highway construction
  • Supervise and train construction and maintenance personnel on material specifications, testing procedures, and quality control measures
  • Ensure that all testing and inspection activities are conducted in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Develop and implement quality control plans to ensure the quality and safety of highway construction projects
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in geology, engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in materials testing and quality control
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Nebraska is desirable
  • Strong technical knowledge of highway construction materials and testing procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
