Closing Specialist

We're seeking a highly skilled Closing Specialist to join our Homebuyer Support team at Habitat for Humanity Spokane. In this role, you'll play a critical part in the partnership and closing process, ensuring a seamless experience for our future homeowners.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Homeowner Engagement Specialists to collect necessary documents for loan applications and origination.
- Teach lending-related classes in Habitat College to empower our future homeowners.
- Utilize Calyx software to create loan applications and submit them to 3rd party lenders for loan origination.
- Determine the best lender and submit loan packets to 3rd party lenders via secure websites or portals.
- Advocate for the best loan product for each client's needs.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, assisting them in collecting required information and completing necessary documents throughout the loan process.
- Update notes in our database for meetings held with future and current homeowners.
- Work closely with the Chief Program Officer to obtain information and documents needed for grant applications and compliance.
- Quarterly review of all future homeowners to identify any financing gaps and notify the Chief Program Officer when applicable.
- Create Purchase and Sale Agreements and amendments as needed.
- Assist the Chief Program Officer in preparing documents for homeowner closings, including Promissory Notes, Subordinate Deeds, and Bargain and Sale Deed.
- Coordinate with title companies, 3rd party lenders, and future homeowners to schedule document signing and closing meetings.
- Conduct pre-closing meetings with families to review closing documents and procedures.
- Organize all closing and legal documents in homeowner hard files and on our network.
- Assist the Chief Program Officer in processing reconveyance documents as needed.
- Provide immediate post-purchase assistance to homebuyers, such as changing utilities and setting up payment portals.
- Maintain relationships with 3rd party lenders and onboard new preferred lenders.
- Pursue Federal and State QLO Certification.
- Ensure compliance with RESPA, TILA, and fair housing and lending laws at all times.
- Represent Habitat for Humanity Spokane in all aspects of professional service, adhering to our policies and procedures.
- Attend Habitat for Humanity Spokane events and meetings as required.
- One-year lending experience and/or training required.
- One-year experience in a social services setting.
- Must have knowledge of RESPA, TILA, Fair Housing and Lending Laws.
