Your Role at JSP

You will become an integral part of the client relationship team and the firm management team. You will start developing strong, positive working relationships with clients, shareholders, and staff from day one. As a Tax Operations Manager, you will be empowered to pave your way, make your mark, and develop your personal brand.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Review business and individual tax returns
  • Prepare high-level tax returns, including state returns; sign completed tax returns
  • Interview clients to obtain information for tax returns or other projects
  • Review tax accruals; attend meetings with auditors regarding tax issues
  • Manage client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional services
  • Evaluate the costs, benefits, and risks of alternative solutions to client problems or needs
  • Perform tax research and special projects as they occur
  • Provide feedback to develop the tax practice
  • Capitalize on personal and professional experiences to develop business and practice lines
  • Participate in the management team, bringing ideas and feedback to support the firm's strategic plan, and be involved with firm committees
  • Supervise and delegate duties to supervisors, senior staff, and staff
  • Provide mentoring and technical training for employees in the tax department and participate in performance reviews
  • Perform client manager duties, including billing and collection efforts for book of business clients
  • Participate in business development, including outside marketing efforts and preparing proposals
  • Participate in community organizations and industry functions
  • Demonstrate competencies in accordance with career development

What You Will Bring

A Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a closely related field is required. Minimum of 7 years of public accounting experience with experience in the above responsibilities is necessary. You should have extensive knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations, as well as critical and analytical thinking skills. Additionally, you should be skilled in networking and developing business, able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and proficient in using tax software, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

We offer an excellent salary package that includes a competitive base salary, ranging from $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will also receive 6 weeks of compensated time off annually, paid holidays, insurance (medical, dental, vision, and group term life), a 401(k) Plan with match, Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, continuing professional education, professional licensing, business expense reimbursement, and mileage reimbursement. Relocation expenses are negotiable.
