Salary: The hourly rate for this position is $45.00.
Job Description
We are seeking experienced RNs to join our team, providing GIP-level hospice care to patients at our Charles County Inpatient Care Center. This PRN (as-needed) position requires 2 12-hr shifts per month, including weekends, and 1 holiday per year. During the initial training period, you will work 1 12-hour shift and complete 12 hours of flexible online learning.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, ensuring each patient receives necessary treatments, medications, and diet as tolerated.
- Identify, communicate, and collaborate on patient problems/priorities/issues based on assessment data, establishing measurable patient goals and communicating the plan of care to the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with patients/families when developing the plan of care, adjusting communication style as necessary.
- Ensure patient/caregiver teaching and patient/caregiver level of understanding and response to teaching are documented.
- Complete electronic documentation, following the appropriate protocol.
- Assist Field Teams when needed.
Qualifications
- Current Maryland RN license or accepted reciprocal out-of-state nursing licensure; and/or CHPN certification preferred.
- 2 or more years of nursing experience in med/surg or home care required, with experience in hospice, end-of-life, or critical care experience preferred.
- Hospice certification (CHP) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Familiarity and comfort with documenting in an Electronic Medical Record.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
