Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Chemist will support the quality system processes and standards, perform raw material, intermediate, and final product testing, and assist with production.
This role collaborates closely with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Shipping, and Receiving teams.
The incumbent must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine laboratory tests, such as sample preparation, chemical analysis, and quality control checks, following established protocols.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Record, analyze, and interpret data, while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to data integrity principles.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist with product investigations, CAPAs/CARs, and timely reporting and closure & communication of product nonconformances including issuance of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with team members to address and resolve production and technical issues.
- Support other roles within the organization as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn new tasks.
- Provide operators with batch corrections as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Preparation and shipment of sample to customers to DOT and IATA requirements.
Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field; or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of production chemistry and the related performance testing.
- Experience working with analytical equipment, including but not limited to, XRF, Flash point, Viscometers, Auto Titrators and FTIR.
- Background in ISO.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference towards chemical manufacturing/processing.
- Strong project, time management and conflict resolution skills.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a manufacturing setting and professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Some of the work will require exposure to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility, collaborating with officials, plant managers and employees.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
