Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to supervise the custodial and maintenance department at Kolling Elementary School. As a Head Custodian, you will be responsible for ensuring the school's facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • SUPERVISE AND COORDINATE THE DAILY WORK OF CUSTODIAL PERSONNEL, ASSIGNING TASKS AND MONITORING PERFORMANCE.
  • MANTAIN RECORDS OF EQUIPMENT SERVICING, FIRE EXTINGUISHER INSPECTIONS, AND OTHER IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF SCHOOL FACILITY MAINTENANCE.
  • RESPOND TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS SUCH AS POWER OUTAGES, WATER LEAKS, OR BURGLARIES.
  • EVALUATE AND IMPROVE CLEANLINESS PROCEDURES, IDENTIFYING AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPING SOLUTIONS.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful as a Head Custodian, you should have:

  • A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT PREFERRED.
  • EXPERIENCE IN SUPERVISION, MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, AND CLEANING.
  • ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH STUDENTS AND STAFF.
  • ABILITY TO PERFORM GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING TASKS SUCH AS FLOOR AND FURNITURE CLEANING.
  • ABILITY TO PERFORM MAINTENANCE TASKS SUCH AS REPAIR/REPLACEMENT OF MINOR ELECTRIC, HVAC, PLUMBING, GENERAL BUILDING REPAIRS ETC.
  • ABILITY TO OPERATE FLOOR-CLEANING EQUIPMENT SUCH AS BUFFERS AND SCRUBBERS.
  • ABILITY TO OBSERVE AND ACCURATELY REPORT OBSERVATIONS.
  • ABILITY TO LIFT 50 POUNDS.
