Job Overview

The Goddard School of West Chester (Village of Marshallton), PA is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Toddler Classroom Teacher to join our team. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that fosters a love of learning in young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum and Instruction:
    • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
    • Foster a love of learning through creative and engaging teaching methods that cater to diverse learning styles.
    • Observe and assess children's development, adjusting activities to meet their unique needs.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Create a safe, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment that promotes socialization and learning.
    • Manage daily routines and transitions smoothly, ensuring a seamless learning experience.
    • Address behavioral issues with positive guidance and support, promoting social-emotional growth.
  • Family Communication:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and daily activities.
    • Conduct regular parent-teacher conferences and provide updates on their child's development.
    • Encourage family involvement and participation in school activities, promoting a sense of community.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and common areas, maintaining a healthy environment.
    • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures, prioritizing children's well-being.
    • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities, staying current with best practices in early childhood education.
    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas and strategies, promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in early childhood education or related field required.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
  • 1-2 years of previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
  • Has successfully completed state-required pre-service training
  • Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
